Rajiv Singh of DLF is India’s wealthiest real estate entrepreneur

With a wealth of INR 1,24,420 crore, Rajiv Singh from DLF leads the 2024 GROHE-Hurun India Real Estate Rich, followed by Mangal Prabhat Lodha from Macrotech Developers with INR 91,700 crore at the second spot, and Gautam Adani & family from the Adani Realty with INR 56,500 crore at third. Of the top 10 on the real estate rich list, five are from Bengaluru and four from Mumbai.

Prestige emerges as new National Brand Leader

Prestige Group has emerged as the new Brand Leader of Indian real estate. The brand had continuously been closer to the Leadership and among the Top 3 National Brands. Brigade Group makes a giant leap and jumps from Number 5 to now the 2nd Best Brand of the business. DLF is continuously scaling up and now rests as 3rd Best Brand at the National level. Godrej Properties is losing its sheen as a Valuable Brand and slips down to Number 5 from Number 2 this fiscal year. Puravankara is also proving to be the Dark Horse of the National Brand Leadership and emerges from Number 7 to now at Number 5.

Sobha retains brand leadership; Embassy is the brand performer

In terms of the overall brand gain for the year, Embassy has been way ahead of the competition curve post the REIT listing. Embassy has jumped from its last fiscal ranking at Number 5 to now at Number 2. As a matter of fact, Embassy is just 0.4 brand score behind Sobha Limited. Moreover, Embassy has taken a lead ahead of Sobha in terms of NRI perception. Moving forward, Embassy Group with diversified portfolio could have an edge over Sobha Limited.

Who has stolen Bangalore lakes?

The report states that 10,785 acres or around 18% of lake area has been encroached in 1,547 lakes in the two districts and also names over 75 companies in a list of offenders. The report blames almost all the prominent developers in the city. This includes developers like Prestige Group, Sobha Limited, Bagmane Group, NICE (Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises Limited) and Oasis Apartments, among others.
