GST to dampen rental housing market

Ramneek Patel, an MNC executive in Gurugram is on a company leased accommodation and the HR is deducting INR 40,000 per month for his rented apartment. Now that the Goods & Service Tax (GST) has been imposed for rental residential units to companies, he has been told by the company that the said liability will be passed on to the employees living in company leased apartments. They can otherwise find an apartment on their own.

India’s tryst with urban housing since independence

Puravankara announces first close of INR 750 crore Alternative Investment Fund

Puravankara has closed its targeted AIF (Alternative Investment Fund) of INR 750 crore (including a green shoe option of INR 250 crore). The company targets the final close of the Fund by September 2022. The Fund will invest in a mix of plotted developments and mid-sized mass housing projects under the ‘Purva Land’ and ‘Provident Housing’ brands.

India property market sees high investors’ interest for alternative assets
