During the CREDAI national convention few years back, a miffed real estate seemed to settle scores with the then Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath. Displaying stiff opposition to the proposed real estate regulator, the builders’ body went critique to say it is not actually a regulator bill, but builders’ harassment and public amusement bill.
The developers are by and large living in denial. The deep rooted psyche is that once the market conditions improve the buyers have no choice but to run for an asset class that is not only need-based but also a business where the demand far exceeds the supply. This medieval thought process is in fact the biggest roadblock in the way of best practices gaining ground in the Indian real estate.
A section of home equipment suppliers even admit that over-dependence on builder contracts that ensure bulk buying, going overboard on commitments and under-utilisation of retail network are the major reasons why they are trapped in a vicious circle today.

The larger question is whether these complaint groups could be termed as the blogging. Definitely not! These discussion forums are not actually professional blogging where the company or the project is evaluated or some constructive criticism is put forward. But yes, this is also in some way the starting point from where tomorrow professional blogging may take shape.
It seems RERA has suddenly made the PMS as one of the most sought after areas of expertise. The developers can no longer afford to delay their projects due to mismanagement by the execution team. In most of the cases the developer himself and/or his top management was thus far taking care of the execution with no seamless process of execution handed over to the experts.
There are very few case studies where the developers have flocked out to cities on sheer promise without registering their presence in the four metro cities. The ‘ease of doing business’ is even more challenging when it comes to the business of real estate and construction where there is over regulation beyond RERA in terms of the developers running from one department to the other for mandatory NOCs, clearances & approvals.
Pune property market is meeting the two challenges with the use of local talent. Interestingly, there is no dearth of man power in this market, either skilled or unskilled and the reason is pretty simple; instead of looking to tap the work force from other regions developers in the city are banking on the local talent to meet the project requirements.
