Kumar Urban Development Ltd (KUL) has raised Rs.50 crore from two private investors, taking its total fund-raising this year to about Rs.300 crore.
ASK Property Fund, the real estate private equity arm of Blackstone backed ASK Asset & Wealth Management Group, has announced the successful investment of INR 190 crore in a project being developed by Kalpataru. I often get amused when I get into the details of the industry survey that shouts at the top of its voice – “All is Well”. Some of these industry reports claiming the business to be witness to higher consumer sentiment are based on the feedback of connected parties like developers, banks, financial institutions and private equity players. Singapore investors are betting big on Indian commercial real estate and other new sunshine sectors, including logistics and warehousing. Major Singapore-based private equity firms are funnelling billions of dollars into the country’s real estate sector, particularly in South Indian cities.
