Mumbai records the highest office take-up for consecutive quarters: DTZ

Track2Realty: Mumbai, the financial capital of India, continued its office expansion and reflected occupiers’ confidence during the year 2014. Followed by 10% in Q3, the take-up figures of office space for this city grew at 29% q-o-q (absolute terms) from 1.1 million sq. ft in Q3 to 1.42 million sq ft in Q4 2014. The office rentals stayed steady during second half of the year and experts predict a similar spectacle over the next few quarters in 2015.

Almost 25% of India’s total demand for warehousing space in 2014 driven by e-retail: CBRE

Track2Realty: Almost 25% of the total warehousing/logistics space uptake across the country in 2014 was by e-retail players, while the uptake of logistics space rose by more than seven times over that of 2013. India’s online retail sector saw exponential growth, as a number of local market-specific services—such as cash on delivery (COD), multiple payment options, and EMI options—assisted in developing the growth curve of e-commerce in the country—according to the findings of CBRE’s latest special report, India Online Retail Driving Realty.

Delhi’s Connaught Place ranks 6th among costliest global office markets in Q3 2014

Colliers International office property market overview report – October 2014 says strong leasing in Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Gurgaon

Robust expansion leads to 36% increase in office absorption over last year

Track2Realty: Net office uptake in the first three quarters (Jan – Sept) of 2014 has seen a significant rise of 36% as compared to same time last year. Total net absorption of office space has been recorded at approximately 24 million square feet (msf) between January – September in 2014 as against the 17.7 msf in same time in 2013, says Cushman & Wakefield in a report.

Track2Realty: The logistics and warehousing market in India attracted steady transaction activity, with large sized transactions of around 100,000–250,000 sq. ft. reported during the first half of 2014. The Delhi National Capital Region (NCR), Chennai and Mumbai accounted for the bulk of leasing activity during H1 2014. The automotive, FMCG, commerce, and third party logistics sectors were the principle drivers of demand for warehousing space in the country during the first half of the year, according to the CBRE report, India Logistics MarketView – H1 2014.
