The Union cabinet may introduce the final version of the much awaited Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill in the monsoon session of Parliament. Earlier, the ministry had sought suggestions and recommendations from other ministries and government agencies on various provisions introduced in the Bill.
Within hours of Track2Realty reporting that the much awaited Real Estate Regulatory Bill will not be tabled in the current session of parliament, the government has confirmed it by announcing that the Bill is likely to be presented in the next session of Parliament. The Bill is expected to be tabled before the Union Cabinet shortly, said Aruna Sundararajan, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.
The recently tabled Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill, 2011 in Parliament is meant to replace the 117-year-old Land Acquisition Bill of 1894.
The much awaited and largely discussed Real Estate (Regulation & Redevelopment) Bill, pending since 2009, is finally been ready and the Government plans to introduce it in the winter session of Parliament after getting Cabinet approval.
Union minister for housing and urban poverty alleviation Kumari Selja has said that the Centre is expected to bring the real estate regulator bill in the winter session.
