M3M enters Noida with Rs. 2400 crore investment in mixed-use project

Real estate developer M3M India has purchased a 13-acre land parcel in Noida. The outright purchase has been through e-auctions and the developer plans to invest around Rs 2,400 crore to develop a mixed-use project. M3M India has a major presence in Gurugram and this is part of the company’s market expansion to Noida through this project.

Puravankara announces first close of INR 750 crore Alternative Investment Fund

Puravankara has closed its targeted AIF (Alternative Investment Fund) of INR 750 crore (including a green shoe option of INR 250 crore). The company targets the final close of the Fund by September 2022. The Fund will invest in a mix of plotted developments and mid-sized mass housing projects under the ‘Purva Land’ and ‘Provident Housing’ brands.

H1 2021 private-equity investments in real estate more than doubles

Investors continued to be bullish on the Indian market, snapping up assets in office and industrial space. Office assets accounted for 35% of the total investments in H1 2021, followed by  industrial and warehousing assets with a share of 27%. Investors are viewing the current scenario as an opportunity to snap up properties at attractive valuations.

Student Housing to witness investments of over USD 700 million investment & an addition of 0.6 million beds by 2023

According to the report titled “The Herald of a New Chapter: Student Accommodation in India”, the Student Housing/Co-Living space is expected to witness an investment worth USD 700 million and an addition of 0.6 million beds by 2023 across the country. Institutional investment to touch USD 50 bn in 2019: JLL study

India’s commercial office segment has been the favourite asset class of institutional investors over the years. They have allocated USD 17.6 bn in the form of direct investments during 2005-2019. JLL research indicates that 294 mn sq. ft. of office stock would be eligible for REIT. This would translate to an additional investment opportunity of USD 35 bn in near term.
