India witnessed increased transaction activity and retailer expansion in H1, 2012. Leading brands and retailers pursued expansion plans aggressively, increasing their presence across key retail hubs. In all the seven cities presented in the review, the retail real estate market appears to be promising with an increase in retailer enquiries. These are the findings of CBRE’s latest report titled “India Retail Market view.”
Global experience has it that typically convention centres are done as part of a large integrated township, commercial complex (hotel, office and convention center). Hence such projects are of more interest to large developers.
An emerging segment to attract the hotel industry of India has been the MICE (Meetings, Incentive, Conventions and Exhibitions) segment as it has the potential to change the face of several upcoming Indian cities.
