Omaxe Ltd., the real estate and infrastructure development company has reported Consolidated Net Sales of Rs. 347.97 crore for the quarter ended December 31st 2010 as compared to Rs. 280.20 crore for the quarter ended December 31st 2009, registering a growth of 24.2%.

To say that the Union Budget 2024-25 has left the vast majority of home buyers in India pretty dissatisfied would be stating the obvious. Even though the built environment of the Indian real estate might find its own silver lining with the given budget, the vast majority of Indians feel this budget is going to hit their finances hard. What comes as a shocker to the perception at large is the fact that their primary dissatisfaction is not limited to the removal of indexation benefits, as perceived by the analysts.
India continues to experience positive retail growth, attracting foreign retailers to establish a presence in key locations. Charles Tyrwhitt, a men’s luxury fashion brand from the United Kingdom, opened its first store in Ahmedabad. Additionally, Maison Margiela, a French luxury fashion brand, and Franck Provost, a French beauty and wellness brand, entered the Indian market by opening their first stores in Mumbai and Bengaluru, respectively. Other noteworthy expansions include the opening of stores by international brands, such as the Swiss luxury watch brand Breitling and the American luxury fashion brand Michael Kors in Chennai and Pune, respectively. In addition, the Japanese homeware brand Daiso Japan and the skincare and cosmetics brand ILEM Japan also opened stores in Chennai.
INR 3,500+ crore highest-ever recorded sales value in secondary/resale market in Mumbai with growth rate of 37% in H1 CY’24 compared to H1 CY’23. The top luxury micro-markets in Mumbai—Goregaon East, Worli, Mahalakshmi, Prabhadevi, Mumbai Central, Malabar Hill, Bandra West, Lower Parel, Tardeo, Byculla—have contributed to 80% of primary luxury sales by value in H1 CY’24. More than half of homebuyers in the more than INR 10 Crore luxury market belong to the 35-55 age category.
A comprehensive analysis of these cities was done involving assessment of various social, economic, financial, and real estate specific demand & supply side parameters. Colliers conducted a broad-based assessment and developed an objective framework incorporating the above-mentioned parameters to assess their relative degrees of importance and impact on various real estate segments such as office, residential, warehousing, retail, hospitality, and alternatives (data centers, senior living, second homes etc.) in the respective cities.

It was expected to be a future ready budget and the overtones in the power corridors were also self-congratulatory in advance. It finally turned out to be pretty ordinary budget for the real estate sector. The stakeholders are nevertheless looking for the silver lining here and there. The most critical stakeholder, the home buyer, is pretty disappointed with the Union Budget 2021-22.
