Track2Realty: Real estate has expressed disappointment over the decision to hike key policy rate by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The developers and analysts say this would lead to increase in finance cost and also affect housing demand during the festive season.
Track2Realty Exclusive: The Government of India envisages one trillion dollar investment in all areas of infrastructure in the 12th five year plan (year 2012 to 2017). The Government wants fifty percent of this investment to come from the private sector participation and most of these projects are expected to utilize the Private – Public partnership (PPP) model.

Track2Realty Exclusive: Some analysts are of the view that in some other sectors people are vocal because they come from very powerful political background and are second generation entrepreneurs. Then, they are active at the federal level without any structural defect where policy at centre might help at some level and hamper at some other state level. Automobile policies, for instance, are framed for across the country.
Gaurav Gupta: I think you will have to take into account the historical background of real estate industry. All of us know historically real estate was never a professional industry in the country before FDI came in 2005. The industry was really fragmented and the industry was with small developers and it was more like a family business.
Pranay Vakil: As a developer if someone wants to come and tell you Atul that instead of borrowing at 11.5 per cent or 12 per cent, whatever the rate lender gives you, you will get this money at 3 per cent, how do you react?
Ravi Sinha: Even in the Indian context, if you look at the places like Gurgaon. Had there been no infrastructure no one would be living over there and that is how NCR has evolved as a case study in satellite towns. But the disconnect is with the funding.
Track2Realty: A reported provision in the proposed law to regulate the real estate sector to send individual or an entity to jail for “misleading” advertisements would be quite a retrograde and adversarial step for investment in the realty sector as it would be open to misuse by a few corrupt officials, ASSOCHAM said on Friday, March 29.
