Office market gains headstart in Q1 2014; records 5.9 MSF net absorption: C&W

Track2Realty: The total the net office space absorption across 8 cities is recorded at 5.9 million square feet (msf) which is 58% higher than same time last year, says the quarterly office market report (Jan–Mar 2014) by Cushman & Wakefield. Among the 8 cities, Ahmedabad and NCR recorded a 3 times increase in net absorption over the same period last year. However, there was a decline in net absorption of approximately 22% over last quarter (Q4, 2014) in all cities.

Highest global rental growth in Mumbai; Delhi’s Khan market 26th most expensive

Track2Realty: In the annual report by global real estate consultants Cushman & Wakefield, “Main Streets across the world”, Mumbai witnessed the highest rental growth globally. Colaba Causeway in Mumbai recorded a rental increase of 75% over last year, on the back of strong retailer demand and continuous preference for prime high street properties in the city. Kolkata – Park Street (5th) at 53.8% and Chennai – Khader Niwaz Khan Road (10th) at 36.7% were among the global top ten cities to register highest annual rental growth.

Most metros soared in property prices, Mumbai & Delhi-NCR witnessed maximum gains

Most regions in the top metros have seen prices soar by double digit percentages in the last three years with areas in Mumbai and Delhi-NCR witnessing maximum price gains. In Delhi, Dwarka and Gurgaon regions saw 64% and 50% price rise in 2012 when compared to 2010. In Mumbai, Mira Road, Thane and Navi Mumbai saw prices increase within the range of 48% and 51% during the same time period. These are the findings of 99 acres.com study on the trends in realty prices of key metros.
