Overall mall vacancy maintains status quo at 14.5%: Cushman & Wakefield

Track2Realty: The overall mall vacancy levels across the top eight India cities remained stagnant at 14.47% in Q2 2014, which was recorded around 0.4 percentage points lower compared to Q1 2014. Amongst the top eight cities, Pune witnessed sharpest decline of 2.5 percentage points due to healthy leasing activity and no new mall supply. These are the findings of Cushman & Wakefield latest report.

New homes get smaller but affordable: Cushman & Wakefield

Track2Realty: The reduced apartment sizes in new launches in 2014 have contributed to making prices more affordable. In the over 50,000 mid segment units (1 and 2 BHKs) of newly launched houses across top eight cities in Quarter 1 of 2014, most cities have seen a reduction in sizes of approximately 100 sf. This has led to an average drop of 6 percent in cost of the apartments within these cities, says a report by Cushman & Wakefield.

Overall investments in India drop 65% in 2013; ranked 10th on APAC ranking: Cushman & Wakefield

Track2Realty: India has received a total estimated investment of US$ 1.2 Bn in the real estate sector making it the 10th most invested location in APAC region of which investment in land was the highest at US$ 838 million, says Cushman & Wakefield in its report ‘Investment Market Beat’ 2013. The APAC region received a record US$ 487 Billion of investment in the real estate sector.

Net office absorption declines by over 25% IN 2013: Cushman & Wakefield

Track2Realty: Total net office space absorption recorded a 25% decline in across top eight cities over last year. According to the annual year end estimations by Cushman & Wakefield the total net absorption for 2013 was recorded at 23 million square feet (msf). Most cities have witnessed a decline in net absorption in the range of 20-40% during the year, except Pune where incremental new space take-up increased by 15% in 2013.

No new mall space helps lower mall vacancy to 14.5%: Cushman & Wakefield

Track2Realty: The overall vacancy levels in malls declined by 0.6 percentage to 14.51% on account of consistent leasing activities while supply has been only 0.77 msf gets added in Kolkata and Pune, says a retail report by Cushman & Wakefield. Healthy transaction activity led to reduction in overall mall vacancy of Pune and Kolkata despite the addition of fresh mall space in both the cities.
