Track2Realty: The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal showcased on Saturday, Nov 17, prime urban land under the possession of Punjab Government to 137 international and national Real Estate Developers, who assembled in Mumbai under the aegis of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI) in a convention organized by them, Punjab land of opportunities.
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is reported to have zeroed in around 70 real estate developers around the country, including Unitech, Parsvnath Developers, and Omaxe for investigation against entering into one-sided agreements with buyers and for allegedly colluding with each other to arm-twist them.
Himachal Pradesh has spiked plans of over 60 builders and developers to sell flats and cottages in the hill state. The developers include DLF, Janta Land Promoter Ltd, Omaxe Construction Pvt Ltd, Optima Construction Pvt Ltd, Amar Nath Aggarwal Builders Pvt Ltd and Surya Builders, according to officials.
The anti-monopoly regulator Competition Commission of India (CCI) has dismissed the plea of two individuals against the realty company Unitech alleging that Unitech failed to fulfill its obligation by not handing over the possession on time and therefore violated section 4 of the Competition Act (2002) by abusing its dominant position.
Call it the fallout of Competition Commission of India (CCI) penalty on the biggest real estate company DLF in a Gurgaon case last August, there has been a rush of complaints at the CCI against several property majors since then. According to CCI officials at least 200 complaint letters came to them against real estate players, of them around 15 were official cases.
If only the secondary market was any indicator of real estate growth, the argument that that the real estate market is turning bearish in Chandigarh would have been true.
