Increasing share of institutional investments in Indian real estate: CII-JLL Study

Institutional investments increased in the last ten years and have improved investor confidence, risk appetite and transparency. Enhanced use of technology across asset classes have changed the outlook of investors towards Indian real estate. As a result, investments have more than tripled to INR 1,400 bn during 2014-18 as compared to INR 465 bn during 2009-13, says the latest CII-JLL report ‘Innovation Led Opportunities – Changing India’s Real Estate Landscape’, released on Wednesday, Aug 21, at the 11th Edition of CII Realty & Infrastructure Conclave.

23% YoY increase in the gross office take-up in India

The first quarter of 2018 has started on a positive note with a 23% YoY increase in the gross office take-up in India. As per Colliers International, approximately 11.4 million sq ft (1.02 million sq m) of gross absorption was recorded in Q1 2018.

Delhi’s Connaught Place ranks 6th among costliest global office markets in Q3 2014

Track2Realty: At nearly US$160 per sq. ft. per annum, Delhi’s Central Business District (CBD) of Connaught Place was ranked as the sixth most expensive prime office market in the world, according to CBRE’s semi-annual Global Prime Office Occupancy Costs survey. Mumbai’s alternative business district of Bandra–Kurla Complex (BKC) remained at the sixteenth, and its CBD of Nariman Point at the thirty-second positions on the Top 50 rankings for global prime office properties.
