It is just the pipeline visibility that is driving developers like Supertech which is building north India’s tallest residential as well as tallest mixed land use project. Theyrather assert that changing demographics, lifestyle and growing aspirations have encouraged them to launch conceptually designed projects with facilities which are matchless and desired by the people.
“The first priority of any builder, who is constructing a high rise structure, is to insure the highest level of safety & security and all related rules & regulations in constructing such structure. We have made sure that all the necessary norms of both fire and structure are being followed not just as per IS Code, but at an international building code. Being in seismic zone 4, it is also being specially designed against earthquakes. Building has been totally designed, fulfilling all the safety and structural norms,” says R K Arora, CMD of Supertech.
High rises are the only way to go, says Ashwani Prakash, Executive Director of Paramount. “Land is scarce and skyscrapers are a compulsive necessity in the metro cities. People may prefer plotted developments in tier-II and III cities, however urban India needs to adapt to the high rise living and that is the only way to meet the ever increasing housing shortage. Of course, it has to be facilitated with the policy incentives as well.”
There are other experts who question the challenge posed by environmental factors and disaster management.
