Danube Building Materials has opened its new Buildmart showroom in Ahmedabad, India, with aims for stronger presence in Asia’s third largest economy, the Dubai-based company said on Tuesday, Dec 13.
Inauguration of new retail unit complements vibrancy of India’s real estate segment as Ahmedabad sees five per cent drop in residential property prices, according to a recent report by CRISIL Research, an independent and integrated research house. Danube Group Managing Director Anis Sajan inaugurated the new showroom.
Danube officials have revealed that the opening of its fifth Buildmart branch in India is part of its move to take advantage of the new found vibrancy of the city’s real estate segment. The CRISIL report, entitled ‘Real(i)ty Next: Beyond the Top 10 Cities of India,’ reports that Ahmedabad’s realty segment has grown leaps and bounds over the last ten years and the increasing number of real estate development projects have driven in a five per cent drop in property prices, thereby offering more affordability for potential homeowners.
The increased interest in real estate property purchasing has prompted the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) to implement initiatives and programmes aimed at fast tracking real estate development activities in the city.
“As the city has become witness to a lot of construction activity, particularly in residential development, the presence of a Danube retail unit proves to be a major advantage, giving developers access to world class building materials and attracting homeowners into the showroom’s wide portfolio of home interior products and services,” Anis Sajan said.
The newly-opened showroom is strategically positioned right in the heart of the Indian metropolitan city and is split into a 7,000 square foot showroom and warehouse. It will offer an extensive collection of building and home interior products, particularly focusing on sanitaryware and ceramic tiles.
Ahmedabad is currently witness to a flurry of real estate development activity, prompting a five per cent drop in prices that has allowed the market to offer these new residential developments at more affordable prices, Sajan said.
“We have chosen to set up our fifth Buildmart branch here in Ahmedabad as it has now become one of the fastest Tier II cities in India. The opening of our new retail facility demonstrates our eagerness to become a major part of these developments, ably positioning ourselves as the premier one stop shop for all building materials and home interior needs.”
