Explaining the implications of order passed by the Bombay High Court, Solanki told a delegation of the Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry that those developers who are the members of MCHI Mumbai and whose names are incorporated in a writ petition on Service tax, should deposit the Service Tax with the Court.

Solanki also explained that the developers should get registered themselves with the Service Tax Department, file their Service Tax returns periodically and complete the due process of assessment.

It was also made clear that the developers who are not covered under the order have to pay Service Tax to the Government.

MCHI, the representative body of real estate developers, has expressed its happiness at the clarification and clearing the prevailing confusion among developers.
