The North East Realty Expo that had begun on August 25 and was organised by Assam Real Estate & Infrastructure Developers’ Association (AREIDA) in collaboration with Hindi daily Dainik Purvoday at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre here, came to an end on Sunday.
The expo saw the participation of 76 developers from across the country. Developers like Merliln Projects, Godrej Properties of Kolkata, Unique Builders, ARG Group, Mangalam Builders of Jaipur, INFINITY, Simplex, Ideal Hill View, Kone, Masonite, SBI, Brahmaputra Group, Royal Estate Developers, Earth Infrastructure and Okayplus Group showcased their projects over there. 18 builders from Jaipur, Rajasthan alone participated in the expo.
The expo provided a common forum for both the developers as well as the buyers for better understanding of the current real estate scenario.
The realty expo also saw innovative ideas being discussed at the forum. President of AREIDA, PK Sarma suggested that the Government could consider notifying Special Residential Zones in line with Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in the city to ease the erratic growth of housing demands.
HS Das, Principal Secretary Finance spoke against horizontal expansion especially in the rural areas, which encroaches on agricultural and forest land. He also proposed various approval processes in a single window, under e-governance and strongly vouched for the regulation of tax structure in the state.
The four day extravaganza also witnessed glittering cultural nights under the name ‘Sham-E-Ghazal’ performed by prominent singer Bhupinder Singh and Mitali Singh, ‘Rock and Roll’ evening performed by Indus Creed, soothing Veena Music from Rajasthan and even saw mesmerising performance by Assamese singing sensation, Angaraag Mahanta along with the band East India Company.
The last day of the expo was marked by the giving away of the North East Builders Choice awards in various categories by Bhubaneshwar Kalita, MP, Rajya Sabha.
