Ackruti Greenwoods awarded IGBC Green Homes Gold Pre-certification

The company claims this certification from IGBC on Ackruti Greenwood reiterates its commitment towards green delivery and building an environment-friendly world.

IGBC is a green rating agency developed on the lines of USGBC (United States Green Building Certification) and awards Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design(India) certification-an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community is designed and built using strategies intended to improve performance in metrics such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

Commenting on the company’s decision to opt for pre-certification for the project, Hemant Shah, Chairman, Ackruti City Limited said, “The decision to get a pre-certification from IGBC reflects our commitment towards building a better community and offering our customers an environment-friendly living experience. Ackruti Greenwoods has been conceptualised to meet the maximum requirements of the National Building Code and that of Thane Municipal Corporation. Committed to 100 per cent green compliance it will offer complete recycling of grey water for landscaping and flushing purposes. The project will also have rainwater harvesting system and install metering devices to measure treated grey water consumption for flushing, landscape water consumption and hot water consumption.

The design and layout of the project offers maximum use of natural light and maximum ventilation, minimizing the use of artificial temperature control. The vast expanses of green have been incorporated to keep the environment free from pollution, besides offering fresh air. The proposed treatment process of the organic waste is either vermi-composting or organic waste converter. The project is aiming for more than 50 % organic waste to be treated, estimated organic waste generation in the project is 1.92 tones per day.
