Noting that real estate prices in Bihar had touched the level of Gurgaon in Haryana, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the state government was keeping a close surveillance on the price spiral.
“People now claim that the real estate prices have touched the level of those of Gurgaon in Haryana and it is also being apprehended that huge money earned through corrupt means is being invested in purchase of plots, houses and flats,” Kumar said while addressing a function organised by the state social welfare department.
“The state government is keeping a close watch on the skyrocketing prices of real estate and taking necessary steps,” he said, adding “We have also tasked a secretary-level officer with the responsibility.”
“We are also examining whether the real estate price rise in Bihar is fake or under a design and whether the money has not come from here and there,” the Chief Minister said.
Claiming that the law and order situation had registered a marked improvement in Bihar during the past five years, he said there might be people who had earlier migrated, were now returning to their base.
Kumar said corruption would not be tolerated and “our battle against the disease will continue till we finish from the roots.”
